Up to 80 percent of pregnancies include nausea or vomiting. One to three percent progress to hyperemesis gravidarum, a leading cause of hospital admission in early pregnancy. Most women are believed when they say they are sick. What they are not given is a plan, because the clinician has twelve minutes and nowhere to send her. Navey is the next step: a number, what works for that number, and the way to get it.
